Facilities and Equipment
Make-Up
Designory occupies 11,000 square feet of classroom and administrative
space. The street level main entrance offers easy access to
mudshop (Make-up Designory’s concept store), nine (9)
classrooms, student facilities, photo studio, student lounge,
and library/resource center. The administrative offices are
located conveniently in an adjacent facility. Mudshop is available
to the students during school hours for their materials including;
cosmetics, accessories, specialty makeup and hairstyling equipment.
The photo studio is equipped with a professional video camera
and monitor system, as well as a professional lighting package,
providing an ideal environment for still and video photography.
The classrooms
are fully equipped to meet both the needs of students and instructors.
The classrooms are provided with the best daylight fluorescent
lighting available for skin tone matching and technical applications
and have a central airbrush system. In addition to our regular
classrooms, including a hair studio, the building contains a
special make-up effects lab.
The special
make-up effects lab is equipped with the tools and materials
required of today’s special make-up effects artists, includingradio-controlled
animatronics. Individual power and hand tools are provided for
each of the twenty-two (22) student stations. The lab also contains
two (2) industrial lab ovens, foam mixers, and custom-made injector
guns.
The hair
studio is equipped with hairstyling mannequins and hairstyle
roller sets, curling irons and other accessories for each student.
A rack of costumes and clothes are available for the wardrobe
styling course, and for use in projects in other classes.
The student
facility is equipped with a sink and three (3) professional
shampoo bowls for student use in both the hair and make-up courses.
The student
lounge is a comfortable environment complete with tables and
stools, vending machines, microwaves, and refrigerator.
The administrative
offices offer a comfortable and pleasant environment, while
providing a complete administrative operation for student and
graduate services including; class instruction support, development
and preparation of resumés, and career support.
